Really Big Show

I'm actually going to be playing live this coming Saturday in Erie, and this time it's actually at a public place. Although it's a private party, so I guess it's not quite the same as a regular show. But I am getting paid, so that makes it my first "professional" gig. Sort of.

Last time I played at a party up there was on New Year's Eve, at a renovated barn where some friends lived. That was fun, and people actually seemed to like it, so hopefully this time will go just as well. It'll be all acoustic, and probably about half cover tunes. Last time was all with my old Telecaster, and almost all original stuff. But I don't want to inflict that on a bunch of people who don't even know me.

Anyhow, Thanksgiving was nice. First T-day at my parents new retirement home. Last night I took a friend out to see a band at the Lancaster Dispensing Company, called the Modern Day Pharaohs. They played a bunch of '80s alternative stuff which I love--Robyn Hitchcock's "Balloon Man" among others. I haven't heard that one in ages. I sort of know the guitar player/lead singer too.
